Serial wzorowany na komiksowej opowieści o piątce dzielnych nastolatków, którzy przystępują do walki z wrogami, chcącymi zniszczyć Ziemię. Jason (Austin St. John), Kimberty (Amy Jo Johnson), Billy (David Yost), "Zack" (Walter Jones) i Trini (Thuy Trang) otrzymują potężną moc i umiejętności, dzięki czemu stają się wojownikami Power Rangers.
